CiteSig · Install
Install CiteSig.
A browser extension to check signed claims, and two libraries to sign and verify them in your own code.
Chrome extension
CiteSig Verifier checks the signature on every CiteSig claim on the pages you visit and shows a small badge beside each one. It is free, version 0.1.2, and works in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers.
Add CiteSig Verifier from the Chrome Web Store →
Verification runs entirely in your browser. The extension collects no data and makes no network requests. See the privacy notice.
JavaScript and Node
Package @citesig/core, version 0.1.1.
npm install @citesig/core
Python
Package citesig, version 0.1.1.
pip install citesig
Using them
Both libraries sign a claim with an Ed25519 key and verify it without trusting the publisher. They share the same test vectors as the specification, and for the same input they produce byte-identical output, so a signature made in one language verifies in the other. Worked examples are on the home page.
Licenses
The libraries are licensed MIT. The specification is licensed CC BY 4.0.
Also from the same publisher
CiteSig is published by Machine Accountability Corporation, which also publishes DeepInquiry, a fact API whose every fact carries a CiteSig signature, and the Qollqa Register, a published register of court findings about machine-generated citations.
